This innovative new product has been developed using the latest Bluetooth technology, meaning that you can now talk on your radio using virtually any Bluetooth headset. The box can sit in any position in your vehicle (well almost) and connects to your transceiver via a cable. Once installed, you can enjoy freedom of movement, as you have no leads around you to get caught up in. Note: Motorola Bluetooth headsets recommended.

If you want remote handsfree operation of your mobile rig in the car but without Bluetooth involvement, then use the handsfree technology of the WX-2400. Easy to fit with the mic/PTT unit velcroed to the front of the steering wheel, and the battery compartment placed out the way behind. The Control box can be fitted near to the rig and a local supply. A lead is required to go from the control box to the microphone socket on the rig.

The microphone is fitted to a light headband and is easily connected to the rig. The range covers all the popular manufacturers’ models. For example, the LA-MI fitted with a modular plug is suitable for the IC-706IIG. A useful feature is the toneburst fitted as standard.

The Safe-2-Way mobile hands-free mic. system made for Watson in the UK by the same company that equips UK Police and Emergency services with similar units, is now available for the amateur radio market. It is easy to install and with an extra purchase of a ready made lead to match your radio, is ready to go. The unit can then be tucked away with the lead out of sight. The supplied separate plug-in PTT and boom mic. both have 3m leads for dressing around the vehicle. The Safe-2-Way can operate over a wide DC voltage range (6-18V) normally obtained from the rig’s mic socket. Where this is not possible, i.e. FT-100D, the unit can be wired directly to a DC supply through a separate power socket.
