February 2007 YAESU DRAW FOR 2-FT897D RADIOS With reference to my recent visit to Waters & Stanton on Friday, 23rd February to collect two FT-897D radio sets that I was lucky enough to have won, I wish to thank you most sincerely for such a lovely gift and that is most appreciated. The second set I presented to the local Ipswich Radio Club at Otley on Sunday, 25th February at their Caravan premises to their President of the Club, Mr John Gee, G4BAV, and one of the Committee Members, Mr Roger Bates, M0CSQ. The Club and its Members were most thrilled and excited on the news of such a lovely gift to thier Club, and it will certainly be in much demand starting with the next 2 metre Club Contest on Tuesday, 5th March. I have given a CD to W & S which they will be forwarding on to you containing the photograpghs of the handing over to the Ipswich Club of the new transceiver. My thanks again to Yaesu UK for my good luck at winning these two radios. I today forwarded my NOV and was advised that in the time it had taken me to walk from the FAX machine the adaptation had been completed. What a brilliant service this is.
